Spring Cleaning for Windows and Doors

Spring is here, and it’s time for a little spring cleaning! As you’re cleaning your house, don’t forget about your windows and doors. They’re the gateway to the outside world, and they deserve some TLC to keep your home cozy, clean and your energy bills low. If you’re looking to clean your windows and doors, we’ve got some tips for you!
Check for Leaks
First of all, make sure to check for any leaks or drafts in your doors and windows. You don’t want to let any precious cool air out during the hot Las Vegas summers. And if you notice any damage, give Synergetic Home a call! We’ll take care of any repairs or replacements you need.
Interior Windows
Now, on to the cleaning! For your interior windows, start with a mix of cold water and dish soap. Then, use a commercial cleaning product or a white vinegar and water solution to really get them sparkling. Dry them with a clean, lint-free towel or microfiber cloth, and enjoy the view!
Exterior Windows
For the exterior windows, hose them down first to get rid of any loose debris. Then, scrub them with a mix of dish soap and cold water. Spray them with a vinegar and water solution to get rid of any tough stains, and use a squeegee or clean towel to wipe them down.
Window Frames
Don’t forget about your window frames, curtains, and blinds! Use warm soapy water to clean your window frames, and pay extra attention to the sash’s bottom and the latch. For your curtains, check the cleaning tag for instructions on machine washing and drying. And for your blinds, use an old sock and a vinegar and water solution to get rid of any dust or grime.
Interior Doors
Last but not least, your interior doors! Use a microfiber cloth and a mild dish soap solution to clean them, and make sure to pay attention to the edges and door frame. If you notice any scuff marks, try using melamine foam to remove them. And to disinfect your doorknobs, use an all-purpose cleaner or diluted bleach solution.
With these tips, your windows and doors will be looking brand new in no time. And if you’re ever in need of energy-efficient windows or door repairs in Las Vegas, give Synergetic Home a call!
